Minimalist cuisine in terms of quantity; the tomato carpaccio on the menu sounds tempting, but in reality, it's four 5mm-thick slices of tomato—I wouldn't call that carpaccio. The menu also lists Iberian ham petals (plural), but in reality, it's just one petal whose flavor is ruined by a balsamic vinegar cream. I'll stop there. This is a restaurant for hipsters who don't know much about food. €156 for two, and we ended up at KFC, but the wine was very good.

Magnificent restaurant, beautiful decorated and shaded terrace. Exquisite cuisine, fast and excellent service. The staff are dynamic, friendly, and responsive. Very little wait for service. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time at La Pause. Everything was perfect: excellent food, attentive and friendly service, and a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. You feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door. It's a place you'll definitely want to return to. We'll be back with great pleasure!

The food was good. The atmosphere was nice, except for the older gentleman who was ungrateful to his staff! Not sure I'll come back now.

Be careful to check your bill, as there may be double charges (not ideal for a restaurant that's so popular with locals in Saint-Étienne). The menu and desserts don't change, which is very disappointing for the price.

I've had lunch at this restaurant several times during the week and have been delighted every time! The service is quick and efficient, the staff are always smiling and pleasant, and the food is excellent. The value for money is truly remarkable considering the menu prices. A fantastic place that I recommend without hesitation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We loved it! Friendly staff. Superb shaded terrace. Delicious food. I recommend the sweetbreads.
